Lake Bled/Lake Bohinj

Lake Bled/Lake Bohinj

Just 50 miles to the north of Slovenia's historic capital city, Ljubljana lie the foothills of the Julian Alps. This is the beginning of the most stunning scenery part of the Trigliv National Park.

Lake Bled:

Lake Bled is located in these foothills and has the Alps as an amazing backdrop of snowy peaks. The lake itself is 3kms long and has an attractive church on the island in the middle, popular for weddings. The town itself is not large and has a handful of hotels and a good choice of restaurants.

Lake Bohinj:

Just 30 minutes from Lake Bled, Lake Bohinj is located at the end of a long valley complete with lush meadows and atmospheric villages. The village of Bohinj is tiny, but it does offer plenty of opportunities for walking, boating on the lake or just enjoying the fantastic views.
