Pound gains a third in value against Turkish lira

Sterling has achieved its biggest year-on-year gain of 34.3% against the Turkish lira, latest analysis reveals. This gives holidaymakers £128 extra on a £500 currency purchase, according to Port Office Travel Money.

Call for UK to Sharm el-Sheikh flights to resume

The government should relax restrictions to allow direct flights from UK to Sharm el-Sheikh to resume. The call came from Egypt’s ambassador to the UK. Tarek Adel told the BBC Egypt had finished working with British security teams to upgrade its airports and was ready to welcome flights again.

sorry it taken a while to get back to u but u know whats its like life starts again. Yes beautiful holiday . Hotel was immaculate from start to finish the rooms the communal areas and the pool. It has a lovely sun deck that we used to use most days it overlooked the sea harbour and beach. they had up graded us to a junior suit a very beautiful room and lots of space with a very good size balcony but not any good for mum as the stairs in them are steep and stone and very deep so…

Hi Paul good to hear from you. Had a nice time thanks, all good. No problems with the restaurants could book as many times as you want. Everywhere was spotless and lots of checks on food and pool. All the staff were very friendly and eager to help, even the resident manager was doing the round introducing himself and checking everything was ok, we were upgraded to a Baron Room (thanks).  Transfers were on time and of a high standard. Would definitely book again, Kind regardsAndy

Shangri La Al Husn Oman - Great client experience

Hi Paul Yes we had a great time thanks.  The hotel was great although low occupancy ~25%.  GM (Milan) was very visible every day which I liked. Pool was lovely and cool.    We did venture down to the Bandar.  We’ve actually stayed there before so we are very familiar with the bars and restaurants We ate most nights in the buffet which was within the half board and actually suited us just fine   Staff were excellent.  There was a bit of a mixup when we arrived with the transfer that I had arranged directly with the hotel.  But…

BA expands Gatwick-Tenerife schedule

Tenerife’s tourism chief has welcomed an expanded British Airways schedule to the island from Gatwick this winter. Frequency will rise from eight to 13 flights a week from October 28 to March 31, 2019. The new flights will depart Gatwick on Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the winter.
