Sousse
Built on the Southern end of the Gulf of Hammamet on the northeast coast of Tunisia. It is the capital of Sahel and is a significant olive growing region. It is no wonder why Sousse has become a favoured tourist destination. The place has it all. Stunning beaches, excellent climate, hotels of all classes, good restaurants and a fantastic range of day trips. Especially known for its ancient walled city, Medina, the resort of Sousse attracts families and young couples. It is full of interesting sites with many attractions around Medina. Some of these are: a lighthouse built in 859 AD and The Ribat fortress that was designed to defend the country from invaders, an impressive Mosque and the Sousse Museum. To the north and on the way to Port El Kantaoui there is a suburb known as Hammam Sousse with a beach, shops and cafes.
