SHARM
EL SHIEKH is located at the southern end
of the Sinai peninsula, with the Sinai
mountains behind and facing the Red Sea.
The resort is spread along the coast with
areas such as NA’AMA BAY, SHARK'S
BAY and Old Sharm town. A wide selection of quality
hotels are located all down the coast together
with shopping malls, authentic Egyptian bazaars
and diving centres.
Na'ama Beach is one of the centres of the
tourist activities, this area is developing
into a resort town of its own. Most hotels
at Na'ama Bay have their own, private beaches
with comfortable amenities such as chairs,
shades and bars. Shark's
Bay is also nearby, and again is a growing
resort community with more and
more to offer, along with several diving
centres.
For those who live to shop, the Sharm
El-Sheikh mall provides shops with both
foreign and
local products, including jewellry, leather
goods, clothing, pottery and books.
HURGHADA has become one of the foremost resorts on the Red Sea, having developed into an area that’s a haven for holidaymakers and divers alike. The Resort’s great mix of hotels, shops and restaurants plus some fine dive sites and access to the rest of the southern Red Sea, makes this a great base.Hurghada has no real centre, with the harbour area of Sigala offering a good range of facilities while other locations are ideal for peace and relaxation. The Hurghada area offers a multitude of reefs, walls, wrecks and abundant marine life, with those further off-shore offering challenges for the more experienced diver. There are about 10 islands which can be visited on day trips from Hurghada, where sharks, giant eels and manta rays can be found in deeper waters.
EL GOUNA is a purpose built resort set on islands in the turquoise waters of the Red Sea, about 15 miles north of Hurghada. Featuring numerous hotels, an 18-hole golf course, a casino, two shopping centres, a brewery and winery, excellent diving and water sports facilities, an open-air cinema, a museum, an aquarium and loads more, all linked by bridges, El Gouna blends perfectly with its environment, having been built in a traditional style. Ideally positioned to dive some of the finest wrecks in the Red Sea. Sites range from shallow coral gardens to dramatic walls and historic shipwrecks.
