The island of Cozumel lies 12 miles off the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula and 35 miles south of Cancun, Mexico. The islands is 30 miles x 9 miles covered with dense vegetation and surrounded by sandy beaches and coral reefs. Since the 1970's the island has been developed for tourism with many fine hotels. Scuba diving, snorkeling and sailing at the most popular water sports and all are readily available at different locations around the island.
