The islands of the MALDIVES lie scattered
like a string of pearls in the Indian Ocean.
Of the 1200 islands only 200 are inhabited
and less than 90 are tourist resorts.
Sparkling white beaches with turquoise lagoons , crystal clear warm waters and
coral reefs surround each island. The destination is renowned around the world
for excellent snorkelling and scuba diving, enabling you to see more closely
the colourful coral and marine life.
MALE is the countries capital city located on its own island. As well as modern
high rise office developments the town still retains plenty of charm with a 400
year old mosque and a traditional fish market. The resorts we feature are located
on various islands around the archipelago.
Temperatures are constant year round and only vary between 26 – 29c, there
are two monsoons during the year, the south west from April to October and the
north east from December to March. Rainfall is generally limited to short sharp
showers.
