Here you have the best of two worlds: two stylish hotels forming a very attractive resort, with excellent facilities and amenities. The garden setting is particularly lovely and when you snooze in the shade of a tree or sip a drink on one of the terraces it is difficult to realise that you are not at all far away from the restaurant area and shops. A short walk also takes you to the Pestana Carlton Madeira, which has direct access to the sea. The original Miramar manor house is a lovely building that is now given over to luxurious suites; in the more modern-looking Miramar and Village hotel wings you find junior suites, superior and classic studio-type accommodation.

A pleasant stroll through the beautiful gardens apart, the facilities of both are open to all guests. There are two heated outdoor pools and one indoors, a health and fitness centre, massage rooms, steam bath and jacuzzi. The main restaurant overlooks one of the pools and the winter garden is home to a bistro and a café. It is a pleasure to take afternoon tea to the sounds of splashing fountains or relax with a drink in one of the bars with live music, before or after dining in either of the two à la carte restaurants - one Madeiran, the other with Mediterranean cuisine; both have a refined atmosphere and lots of character.
