The hotel comprises a magnificent spa and famed thalassotherapy centre, Les Thermes Marin des Cascades, a world class golf course, four clay tennis courts, two squash courts and a racquet club. Fitness fanatics will enjoy the views from the gym which is equipped with a freshwater lap pool, while showers, saunas and steam rooms all combine to freshen you up after an energetic session on state-of-the-art aerobic and strength training machines.
Other activities available include snorkelling, boat trips, diving, excursions around the local countryside and surfing.

Restaurants and Bars:

Five different dining experiences exist for the bon vivant at La Residence, all of which include the special dietary requirements for those undergoing therapy programmes at the spa.

The Dunes offers terrace dining, both inside and outdoor with as backdrop the remarkable views of the sea and golfing area. Elegance is paramount at L’Albatros, with a gracious environment overlooking the central lake and golf course.

Spike’s Bar is the place to relax after the 18th green, or a brisk dip in the pool. A cosy clubhouse feeling dominates The Gallery, just right for a quiet cup of tea, and testing your skills at a board game. A British pub on the top floor, the Eagle’s Nest, is named after the sea eagles often viewed off the south coast. After sunset is when Layali comes into its own, with the desert and ocean lit up by the beautiful starlit night seen from its terraces.

La Residence des Cascades boasts 39 deluxe suites and 216 well appointed guest rooms all overlooking the golf course and the sea. Rooms have balconies, satellite television, mini bar and mini safe, air conditioning, and internet access. There are a number of rooms with facilities for the disabled. Some of the suites can be connected to form small apartment areas

The Cascades is Soma Bay's Golf and Country Club which provides a sporting and social focal point for the peninsula's community, centering on one of Egypt's most stunning desert links-style golf courses.

The Gary Player designed course is the first in many ways in Egypt. Not only is it the first golf course open for play on the Western Red Sea coast, it is the first Championship Course in the Middle East designed by one of the "Big Three" (Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer). The 18 hole, par 72 course offers memorable views of the lush green fairways that contrast dramatically with the rugged desert and the clear blue sea waters.

At the inaugural tournament, Gary Player described the course as "the next Pebble Beach." In his book Gary Player’s Top Golf Courses of the World, his personal selection of 55 of the most memorable golf courses around the globe, The Cascades Championship Course was referred to as "the Red Sea Treasure." The Cascades was recently ranked among the Top 5 golf courses in the world by the readers of "Golf Journal."

Adjacent to the Championship course, is the 9 hole, Par 3 Challenge Course, also designed by Gary Player, that offers both the beginner and the more advanced golfer the opportunity to practice a variety of shots with emphasis on the short game. The Par 3 Challenge Course serves the Golf Academy where individual and group tuition by PGA Golf Professionals is available. There are also extensive practice facilities, including a 60 bay driving range, and several putting and pitching practice greens.
