Resort: Rhodes
Rhodes
The highest sunshine record in Greece does no harm to Rhodes' ratings. Think Greek and it's got it all; olives, honeybees, curved bays with pines and ancient sites. Rhodes' old town is acknowledged as the finest walled town in Europe and the new part of the town thoughtfully comes with two beaches, one shingle and one sand. Lindos is best when the day trippers leave, with its stunning sunsets and international dining.
Ixia:
Ixia is situated on the north west part of Rhodes, 4 miles away from the city centre. It is considered as one of the most organized and well developed areas: it is very close to the beach and very close to the airport. The beach is ideal for water sport lovers since during the summer months it gets windy; it is perfect for wind surfing, jet skiing, water skiing, sailing and parasailing. But it is a very romantic place as well, since you can watch one of the most astonishing sunsets ever.
Lardos:
Lardos is a beautiful village located at the southeastern part of Rhodes, 5 km away from Lindos. It has an organized gorgeous sandy beach, with crystal clear waters, awarded with the Blue Flag from the European Union, with facilities for water sports, just 2 km from the village’s centre. There are many restaurants serving traditional food, cafes and bars.
Lindos:
The gorgeous village of Lindos is located approximately 60 km south of the Rhodes Airport, and it is situated in the middle of the east coast. For many people is the Greek “St. Tropez” because it has a beautiful gentle sandy beach with cool clear shallow waters ideal for all the family. The village has traditional whitewashed flat roofed houses, with many small shops, bars and restaurants. Here you can admire the outstanding hilltop Acropolis; it was built on the 4th century BC, dedicated to Athena and can be reached either by foot either by riding donkeys. Unfortunately, this amazing place is not an easy place for people with walking disabilities.
