You've seen those pictures in the advertisements of the restaurant tables all lit up with candles at night stretching endlessly around a harbour - welcome to Mykonos Town. This town certainly has authentic Greek island character, the white-washed walls, blue shutters, narrow cobbled streets full of chic shops and boutiques. The harbour by day is full of ferries coming and going connecting Mykonos to the other islands and Piraeus on the mainland and by night is a picture as all the tavernas and restaurants all illuminated by candlelight. Nearby 'Little Venice' - so called for its arcaded medieval house buit on the waterside, is a chic area of boutiques, art galleries and cafes - just the place to be seen.Platys Yialos:
The second most cosmopolitan and frequented area on Mykonos Island, is located on the South of Mykonos Town. Platys Yialos with its excellent beach in combination with its natural beauty and wide range of tourist venues, accommodations, restaurants, bars, make it the ideal holiday destination. The settlement also includes several of the island’s major archaeological sites. From Platys Yialos, which is approximately 5 km from the airport, visitors can reach other beaches and villages on the island by boat.Elia:
The beach of Elia, at a distance of 10 km south east to Mykonos town, is the biggest and the best organized and developed beach at the southern part of the island. Luxurious hotels, and bungalows, taverns and high class restaurants and sea sport facilities are available. It is at this beach that has been established the only Water Park of the island, another spot of fun, especially for children and young people. Elia is approximately 10 km from the airport.Ornos Bay:
Ornos is a seaside village located on the southwestern side of Mykonos Island that is especially popular for its beautiful beach and the variety of famous hotels. Ornos beach has a well developed tourist infrastructure, including countless restaurants, cafés, bars and frequent transportation to and from and to Mykonos Town and other beaches on the island.
