Taba and Taba Heights :
Taba and Taba Heights are at the northern tip of the Red Sea's Gulf of Aqaba bordering Israel. The coastline boasts beautiful stretches of beaches and a balmy climate that tourists are certain to enjoy. The resorts are smaller and quieter than the larger Sharm el Sheikh to the south. Holidays in Taba are peaceful and relaxing, with hotels generally quite spread out and no town centre as such. There are several shops, restaurants and an 18 hole golf course in nearby Taba Heights and is easily accessible by taxi. With close proximity to the borders of Israel and Jordan excursions to Petra and Jerusalem can be arranged locally as well as Mount Sinai and St Catherines Monastery.
Nuweiba:
Nuweiba is one of the most picturesque regions on the Red Sea, with azure-blue waters and sandy stretches of beach laid out before the towering Sinai mountain range. About an hour south of Taba, Nuweiba is a small, peaceful resort and port with a laid back atmosphere. The shallow reefs around Nuweiba are ideal for snorkelling, while there are good dive sites to the north and south of the resort. The wonderful sandy beaches, the looming mountains fading into the horizon and the crystal clear waters dotted with reef formations combine to create an atmosphere that is at once relaxing and invigorating. Meanwhile, a taste of authentic local life is on offer in nearby Nuweiba town, where bazaars, shops, restaurants and the port buzz with daily activity.
