Approximately 45 km south of Hurghada Airport, Soma Bay is situated on a peninsula surrounded by sparkling turquoise waters, soft sandy beaches and impressive desert scenery. Soma bay is a complete contrast to the brash and far larger resorts of Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada. Holidays in Soma Bay are relaxing and quiet. Wander along the beachfront promenade and each one of the five luxury hotels appears, all located virtually on the beach. Continue along the promenade and pass fine restaurants serving Italian, Oriental and any number of different cuisines. Soma Bay is home to an 18 hole USPGA Championship golf course, which hosts several tournaments, and a number of Dive Centres who organise trips to the nearby reef. The reefs of the Soma Bay area are in good condition, making the area a haven for divers and snorkellers.
