Elounda Mare is set in extensive grounds leading down to the Bay of Mirabello. The hotel is designed in traditional Cretan style and comprises of a main building containing standard bedrooms with bungalows and villas in the gardens and on the seafront. The decoration is exclusively antique pieces of folk art; carpets, chests, tapestries, mantelpieces, and fine Cretan marble throughout the halls and salons The Elounda Mare belongs to the prestigious ‘Relais and Chateaux’ group – the first in Greece, this membership confirms the highest standards of cuisine and service at the hotel.

The hotel has been developed on 30.000 m² of gently sloping land with a private coastline of 300 metres. The town Agios Nikolaos lies at a distance of 7 km. and the small village of Elounda is only 2 kilometres away.

Restaurants and bars: A full buffet breakfast and dinner is served in the ‘Deck’ restaurant overlooking the bay, this restaurant serves guests on Half Board. The shaded terraces of the ‘Yacht Club’, serves a lunch of freshly caught fish daily as well as dinner in the evenings from an a la carte menu. Snacks and afternoon tea are also served at the “Old Mill” restaurant near the swimming pool. The “Karavia” bar, situated in the main hotel, with magnificent views over the Mirabello Bay and Sitia mountains is enlivened with soft piano music in the early evening. 24-hours room service available.
